About Me

I'm a software engineer at an environmental nonprofit where I develop tools to visualize data and support decision-making.

My path into the tech field wasn't traditional — I earned a B.S. in Biology from UC Santa Cruz before transitioning to software engineering through Launch School, an online mastery-based program. Then I created Campfire, an open-source, self-hosted tool for automating deploy previews and streamlining collaboration during development.

Today, I enjoy building software that blends together technology and environmental science.

Recent Work: Campfire

Campfire is an open-source, self-hosted deploy preview automation tool and UI for collaborative communication through its syncing of comments with GitHub. It was built with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and AWS. Learn more.

How does Campfire work? 🤔

  • Automatically deploys preview environments with GitHub Actions on every pull request.
  • Deploy previews are hosted on AWS infrastructure using AWS Elastic Container Service.
  • Share deploy previews with teammates via a public url configured to an application load balancer.
  • Comments on the proposed changes in Campfire will automatically sync back to GitHub.
  • Add visual context to feedback with a session replay recording of DOM events.

Past Work: Rainbucket 🌧️

Rainbucket generates URL endpoints for inspecting HTTP requests in real time. Built with Node.js, Nginx, React, Express, WebSockets, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Digital Ocean Droplet.
